A monkey in the house!!

Kevin went to the zoo according to the monkey that showed up at our house this morning. Thankfully this monkey is willing to eat Kevin's lunch and play with Kevin's toys.













He did those first two on his own so I asked him to do the next one. ;) he is a very cooperative monkey.

Nerf!

Yesterday Adam took Tyler and Kevin out to the store to run an errand. As they were at the store, they were being so good that he decide to surprise them and told them to pick out a new toy. After-the fact we realized that we have never done this with them...just taken them to the toy aisles and told them to find something fun. In the past we have either picked something out ourselves for them, or grandparents have taken them.

Immediately, Kevin picked out his toy and was excited. Tyler on the other hand took his time. And from what I understand they walked and walked and walked the toy aisles. As long as they were gone I figured that they went out for a snack too, but apparently a new toy is a serious decision that requires a lot of thinking.

It reached a point where Adam admits he would have bought anything just to get the decision made. ;). Not sure if he hit that point or not but Tyler got his very first Nerf gun. He is beyond excited and was up super early to play with it. All of the boys are having a blast, and having a one year old brother is great for dart roundup. Kevin and Tyler set up tasks...like shooting my front door from the kitchen, or down the stairs.....and Jacob happily gathers as many as he can when they are done and happily hands them over. So far we as parents haven't had to do a lot of regulating yet...but for laying down ground rules.

All of this to share that Tyler says he is really a big kid now that he has his very own Nerf gun....just like daddy used to get when he was a big kid. So when he ran back up the stairs this morning I decided to take a quick picture to share.

Puzzle time

Kevin has been working hard this morning and just completed a jigsaw puzzle. He's very pleased with himself and keeps working it over and over. Here's a picture from his second time through. He's being a "kickboxing guy" (his words). :)

Sewing project

Starting to prep for the start of school. Today, Kevin helped me cut up all the fabric Tyler has picked out over the course of the summer to make reusable fabric sandwich bags! Kevin was an amazing helper and very eager. It was fun to have him helping and I can't tell you how excited I am to get these bags sewn up!

Summer reading challenge!

He did it! Tyler had to read eight books and write down who he would recommend the book to and why. He spent three days and nights reading and was so excited to go turn in his form and see what book he could get.




He was a happy camper leaving as he was able to get a Lego book as his free one. We tried hard to get him to pick Danny the Dinosaur but apparently is parents don't know the cool book. :)





Best day ever as he also got his Lego Club magazine in the mail. ;)

When we got home there were three bunny's in the neighbors yard. Tyler decided to practice his spy skills and sneak over.
