Last week or two...

I can't remember the last time I blogged. I don't think I have posted these pictures yet.

Jake recently discovered all the fun of Toy Story and was so thrilled to discover that we have a lot of the toys! He is distraught that we can't find Woody's hat but seems to have solved that issue by just always wearing a hat of his own when playing with Buzz and Woody! :)



Kevin's head grew over the winter so we had to go get him a new helmet. He picked out a super cool and Scarey shark helmet. :)



Tyler successfully rode his bike Blueie all the way to the park without training wheels! He was pumped!



One night Kevin surprised us with the underwear monster! It cracked us up and was picture worthy.



Tyler is beyond thrilled with a Lego Hogwarts game and one night had Adam and me put on our "wizard" (aka bath robes) robes to play with him. By far a super perfect game for him. :)



We finally got some kickstands put on the kids bikes. I know a little thing but super exciting for me. Much better then them laying on the garage floor! Oh and both big kids are training wheel free now!



Unfortunately Kevin had a big crash on Wednesday while riding Tyler's bike. He had his helmet on but still ended up with a good bump on his head. :(.




To his credit though a few hours later he insisted on riding all the way to Tyler's school! He is bike obsessed. :)

It was gorgeous today so we spent the after school hours outside. Everyone ride their bikes/trikes and Tyler rode to a friends house to play for awhile. Then we headed to the backyard to play in the sandbox and have a batting practice session. Not big kids did great with a mom pitch session, and the Jake was all giggles when I helped him swing while the big brothers pitched to him. Everyone was super giggly and loving the outdoor time. :)

Thursday

Today turned out to be gorgeous weather wise. I have a lot to do around the house (aka laundry) but after school the boys convinced me to ride bikes. So for an hour they rode and Tyler played with a friend from school at her house for a bit too while Kevin practiced his bike.

He is getting very good and is incredibly determined to get good. He spent a lot of the time Tyler was busy, riding Tyler's bike around. I am just amazed at how soon he has mastered it.

Here is a video of him riding today. Just fearless. . . Especially after his big fall yesterday.

We finally made it home and the boys begged to play outside more. I have a lot I should be doing but it's been such a long winter I am super eager for spring. :)

Home Depot Kids Workshop - Race Cars!!

This weekend Grandma and Grandpa came out to celebrate Jacob's second birthday with us!  More from that in a bit, but for now a bit from our Saturday.  It was the first Saturday of the month so Grandpa took the boys to Home Depot to build.  Normally, Jacob just watches, but this week it was a race car, so he was all about trying to build something too!  He even got his own apron, though he refuses to wear it.  :)

Thankfully, Grandma thought to take pictures and video, so I have something to share.  Everyone had a blast.  Great idea Grandpa!! And thanks for the pictures and video Grandma!!

Someday I wonder if they will all three sit and play video games together. They are all playing so well right now. ;)

Jacob's Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake

For Jacob's second birthday we made him a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake.  He is so excited!  He just became obsessed with Mickey Mouse and just keeps yelling "Mickey" every time he sees it.

Thursday Fun

After school yesterday Kevin headed upstairs for a late nap.  While he did that, Jacob and Tyler pulled chairs up to the counter while I worked on Jacob's cake. Both had a lot of fun playing with each other and just chatting.  They were being so cute!  Once I got to a good stopping point I went and took some pictures.  :)

Jacob was having fun making Tyler try to kiss Mickey.  And Tyler was doing an amazing big brother job of being super silly so Jacob would laugh.  It was so cute to watch.

Then Tyler made the mistake of mentioning that he was going to eat Jacob's nose.  Jacob thought that sounded funny, and started pretending to eat Tyler's nose!  Ha!

Last night was the school science fair.  Tyler was so excited to get to finally go to it!  Kevin was pretty grumpy after his nap and never really recovered.  Adam ended up taking Tyler.  Eventually, Jacob and I made it up to school but we didn't stay long.  I really wish I could have, but it was better to leave since Kevin insisted on being carried.  

A staff member from Tyler's school surprised me this morning with a picture of Tyler at the fair.  He is with his principal checking out the display next to his.  I didn't get any pictures so this is awesome!

It was a neat setup.  Not like we imagined.  But they had all the kindergarten science projects down in the kindergarten wing, and continued the trend with all the other grades.  It was great. Even with those few displays it was still pretty crazy with all the parents and other kids walking around...but gave the kindergartners the ability to stand together and present their displays.  Very cool.

I did get a few seconds of video before giving up.  :)  He is back into magic spells and had fun trying to use them on Adam while we were there.  

So thankful Adam stayed there with Tyler.  Eventually they came and met us for a quick dinner out.  Tyler thought it was awesome and Adam said that he was so ready to just talk and talk and talk about his project.  :)  And he had a lot of fun getting to see the other projects too!  The highlight though was probably the ribbon.  He was so excited to find a participation ribbon next to his display when he got there!  And he couldn't wait to come home and get it up on his wall.   :)  So much fun.

Then Tyler is super excited about today.  They are celebrating Dr. Seuss at school.  So he took his favorite book, Wacky Wednesday.  My understanding is that they are going to read lots of books today....so he was asked to bring in a stuffed animal to snuggle with too.  Rather than take Blur, his Cheetah, he chose to take Love, his penguin.  This presented a big of a problem though because he also wanted his snow boots to play in the snow on recess.  So he left loaded up for the day.  When we got to school he saw kids walking in already even though we were early (it started snowing heavy so they brought them inside rather than make them wait).  He flew out of the van and because of all the stuff couldn't get his backpack on nor did he want to wait for my help!

So I had to watch the vice principal try to help him.  He was determined to run right by her, but she snagged him and while he was still trying to walk she got his backpack on.  It was so comical.  And later she told me he was just so worried he would miss Dr. Seuss day!!  :)  Oh, just love his excitement! :)
